Well I have been one busy bee lately! I don’t know about you but I love the feeling of being productive! It has definitely been a ‘work hard/play hard’ past couple of days. I just need to make sure I catch enough winks at night to keep up my energy levels. Haha! ;)
First order of business: I have my laptop back! Yahoo!! I was beyond excited to have it back. I had checked a couple of my super important emails from my phone (I don’t normally do this because I don’t have a smartphone and don’t know if I want one, but it helped me feel in touch) so that wasn’t so bad. I wouldn’t even say that I really needed it while it was getting tuned up, but knowing it’s there is kind of like a security blanket. I wonder if that’s just me or if other people feel that way… (feel free to comment ;) ). What was nice about not having it was that I got a lot of cleaning done. I’m normally on the computer when I’m winding down at the end of the night and/or watching TV. In its place I sorted through papers, mail, cut coupons, etc. and I think that was a much better use of my time.
On top of picking up my laptop I did a whole bunch of other stuff yesterday. At lunch I ran home to do the dishes, pay some bills, get gas, and grab something for lunch/dinner. (Ooh boy, the life I lead is SO exciting!) I would normally do all this after work but I had other (MUCH better) plans. After work I went grocery shopping, picked up my laptop (more excitement!) and then went to see Something Borrowed with Emily and her book club girls. I have met them a bunch of times and they’re a really fun group so I was super excited to go! Unfortunately since I was running all over creation after work I missed dinner with them at the Cheesecake factory BUT since I had planned ahead and picked up food when I was home at lunch I was all set.
The movie was good but I have a hard time saying I loved it because the basic plot of the movie is something I don’t really agree with. For those of you who are familiar with the book (and know what it’s about) I’m sure you know what I mean. For those of you who don’t know what it’s about, you can check it out here. I don’t want to go too much in depth for people who want to see the movie and don’t know what it’s about so I’ll stop here. What I will say – and this has nothing to do with the plot – is that the leading men in the movie were quite easy on the eyes. ;)
After the movie got out, I skedaddled back home because I still had a few things I wanted to do. Before doing anything else I set up my computer and put on my music :-D then I got cookin’! Literally. My dad and uncle are visiting me this week to help me with some house projects SO I wanted to make a few treats to thank them. I had a few bananas that were getting a little too ripe so I headed back over to Courtney’s blog and copy-catted her Oatmeal Raisin Banana Muffin recipe. The only thing I edited was I used 3 bananas instead of 2 because I had 3 and wanted to get rid of use them all. As a result I added a little more of the spices so there wasn’t an overwhelming banana flavor when all was said and done.
While those were a-bakin’ in the oven, I whipped up a batch of No-Bake cookies. A co-worker friend of mine gave me her recipe because hers are so good. I had to make a slight modification and added graham crackers because I ran out of oats and needed something else to absorb the chocolate-ness.
I’m thinking once this batch is gone, I might try them again but mix in more graham crackers and maybe mini marshmallows. I think they’d taste kind of like smores and that could be really good! I’ll have to let you know how that goes. I’ll be back later this week to post the recipe for these babies along with my edits :)
Hope you’re all having a great week!
Do you have any fun plans to look forward to?
