Do you ever have that feeling where everything in your life is just the way it’s supposed to be? I get it every so often and LOVE that feeling! Like I’m on the right track and everything has fallen perfectly into place. It makes me feel incredibly hopeful about my future and life in general. I sometimes worry that I’ve gone off course somehow when I feel like my life isn’t how I think it should be, but it’s nights like tonight that help me know I’m OK.
The past couple of days have been a little rough with class – the majority of my grade for this class is based on a group assignment and it’s been difficult getting everyone on the same page about all the different facets of the project. But this weekend I just set goals for myself to get certain bits accomplished by a certain time, and really kept up with my schedule. As a time management tip that was AMAZINGLY helpful – I used my cell phone to set up several alarms to keep me on track with how much time had passed and keep me focused on my goals. I wound up getting everything done on time or ahead of schedule without feeling rushed (for the most part) and even had time to go see two movies!! I went to see the new James Bond movie Skyfall late Friday night and saw the last movie in the Twilight series Sunday night. It was so great being with people and seeing friends I haven’t seen in literally months! I guess I didn’t realize how much the kitchen remodel and classes had made me miss everyone.
I’m working really hard trying to find a better balance with classwork. I know it can’t completely take over my life because then I get burnt out and miserable, but I have a hard time making time for me. I’m happy to report I’m doing MUCH better this class than last class, so hopefully I’ll continue to move forward and strike a balance! I will definitely be employing the cell phone alarm trick more often though – probably on a nightly basis! It was a super helpful way for me to allot time and not lose track.
Great Idea. I think I will try it. Glad you had a good weekend.
